04/11/2025 - ESI's website will be down for scheduled maintenance on Saturday April 12th between 9AM and 11AM CST. During this time customers will be unable to submit rail billing nor book empty equipment thru the website. |

04/02/2025 - BNSF has announced the following changes to the Intermodal Rules and Policies Guide.
Effective May 1st-
The Hazardous Surcharge will increase from $80 to $100.
The Ancillary Charges for Non-Compliant shipments of Coiled Metal, restricted and Prohibited cargo have been significantly increased.
Effective June 1st-the daily storage charges will increase as follows.
Day 1&2-from $160 to $175 per day
Days 3-7 from $235-$250 per day
Day 8 and beyond-$510 to $525 at ALL facilities. |

04/01/2025 - Valued ESI customers:
FSC for April is 31%.
Please note that the FSC will take effect on the 1st Monday of the month.
Fuel surcharges are applied when ESI receives the rail billing (EDI or e-mail).
ESI reserves the right to provide service at its discretion. |

01/09/2025 - The ILA and the East Coast Port Operators have reached a tentative agreement last night and the labor strike scheduled for 1/16 has been cancelled. The NS has announced that all inland gate closures for units destined to the ports has been lifted effective immediately and customers may resume ingatting their loads to Dockside, Charleston, Norfolk VIG, Norfolk NIT and Garden City (Savannah). |

10/28/2024 - Effective November 1st, 2024 the BNSF has changed the free time policy for units billed with a POG (Planned Out Gate) date. If the POG is after the day of notification, the BNSF will only allow for a total of 3 free days in addition to the day of notification regardless if the POG date is 4 or more days past the actual notification. |

10/23/2024 - Dear Valued ESI Customers,
Please note that effective January 1, 2025 the BNSF will cease offering service from St. Louis to Oakland. ESI can however provide rates over the UP from St. Louis (Dupo) to Oakland as requested. |

10/07/2024 - Effective December 1st, the UP is changing their rail storage schedule. They will no longer classify Intermodal Terminals into Tier 1 & Tier 2, and storage charges for all terminals will be assessed at $150 a day for days 1-2, escalating to $250 a day for day 3 and beyond. |

08/30/2024 - Effective Immediately the NS has changed their live lift hours at the Croxton ramp from 7AM until 10AM EST. There are no afternoon lift hours at this time, and drayman needing flips must arrive at the ramp between those hours only. |

08/30/2024 - Effective October 1st, the NS is increasing their surcharge for overweight loads from $200 per unit to $230 per unit. |

07/11/2024 - Effective July 1st, the BNSF announced that the daily storage charge rate was increased by $10 at all Tier 1 & Tier 2 Facilities, while flips have increased by $20 and the Shipment Protect Program was increased by $15 (from $65 to $80) effective immediately. |

06/11/2024 - CSX has ceased offering service from Chicago to South Kearny for intermodal units. |

02/12/2024 - The NS is ceasing intermodal service for units moving between Croxton, NJ and Chicago February 19th, 2024.
The final date customers can ingate at Landers for destination Croxton is Tuesday 2/13 (with departure on Thursday 2/15).
The final date customers can ingate at Croxton for destination of Chicago is Sunday 2/18 (with departure on Monday 2/19).
Kindly note this does not affect thru traffic billed with a rule 11 interchange to either the BNSF or UP in Chicago for further movement to the West Coast-this is only for traffic billed from origin Croxton to final destination of Chicago.
Alternative pricing via the CSX from Chicago (Bedford Park) to South Kearney, NJ is available. |

06/08/2023 - NS announced that effective Monday, July 10th, 2023, the following changes will apply to the NS international storage policy:
• All international units grounding at Tier 1 terminals will be granted free time of one (1) day following the Day of Notification.
• Tier 1 storage charges will be $100 per day for days 1 through 5 then increase to $200 per day for days 6 and 7. Day 8 and beyond will be charged $500 per day.
• All international units grounding at Tier 2 terminals will be granted free time of two (2) days following the Day of Notification.
• Tier 2 storage charges will be $100 per day for days 1 through 5 then increase to $200 per day for days 6 and 7. Day 8 and beyond will be charged $500 per day. |
