04/06/2023 - With the UP’s plan to implement a policy for high security seals required for all intermodal shipments in the next few months, your partners at ESI wanted to share with you some information regarding theft and theft deterrent methods your company can take to reduce or eliminate break ins while in transit. Below are links for the various rail websites regarding security, with additional links to private companies that provide high security seals for your reference. Although we are not aware of the other North American rails implementing the same requirement on their lines, they may follow suit if UP dictates that all interchange traffic to the UP includes the high security seals. In any case, we hope that you find the information found on the site useful.
